The highest decision-making body in AKT is the Congress, convening every fourth year, next time in 2010. In the inter-Congress period, the highest decision-making body is the General Council, convening at least two times a year and consisting of 40 members elected by the Congress. The day-to-day operations are run by the Executive Board, ordinarily convening once a month and consisting of 20 members. The matters presented to the Executive are prepared by the Steering Committee.
The Executive Board has appointed 16 sectoral sections to assist in interest representation.
