Occupational Health and Safety
The goal of occupational health and safety is to secure employees’ health and working capacity up to the retirement age. The health and safety legislation is enacted for this purpose, and it obliges employers to do all they can to protect the workers from becoming exposed to industrial accidents. The employer is also obliged to make sure that employee’s health does not suffer because of work.
AKT occupational health and safety work is based on the AKT Working Environment Programme for 2006-2010. The Programme is available at Members pages (in Finnish). Union’s priorities in this work are prevention of industrial accidents and risk management.
